Lesson Plans for the K � 2 Classroom (Technology Integration Included) How Technology Affects Our Lives (iPhoto) (Students will learn how technology has played a roll in making our lives better. They will use digital still shot cameras and Apple�s iPhoto software to create a book about �Old Things and New Things.�) Getting to Know You (iPhoto) (To help ease the transition at the beginning of the school year, students take digital pictures of each other and then write a few descriptive sentences about themselves to share with their classmates in this iPhoto Book.) Our Community (iMovie) (With this project, students will explore and learn about the jobs of leaders within the community. Students become junior news reporters as they interview these key people.) Pen Pal Project (iPhoto Book) (How can we show pen pals in a distant country what it is like to live in our community? How can we share information about ourselves if they do not have computers or e-mail? Answer: Create a Book with iPhoto.) Sea Animals (iMovie and AppleWorks Slideshow) (This lesson integrates science, technology, writing and math. Students will research sea animals using �A Field Trip to the Sea Deluxe� software, Seaworld and Enchanted Learning websites, and various library books.) Weather (iMovie, Graphs, Kid Pix) (What do cumulus clouds, wind vanes, barometers, rain gauges, and thermometers have in common? In this lesson, students become junior meteorologists as they learn about weather.)
