From the Coordinator Special Services

"Kucera will provide a high quality education that prepares all students to be productive contributing members of society".

Kucera Families,
The 2nd Quarter started October 3. We will have the First Quarter Honor Roll Assemblies on November 2, 2011. Grade level times to be announced.

If your student is not proficient or advanced with grade level state standards or has not shown appropriate progress with 1st Quarter grades make sure you are supporting high expectations at home. Make sure school events are a priority by your actions. Can you make sure your student attends Step Up on Saturdays? Did you attend the Parent Summit on Saturday, October 8, at Rialto High? (We held the State of the School Address on Sept. 28 at 6:00p.m. to inform parents about our school's CST results. Thank you to all families that attended.)

On October 20 at 6:00p.m. we will hold the first Math Night for this school year. Families that attend school events help support their student's success. Our collective actions send a strong message to students. Thank you for partnering with us.

Our counseling program with California State University, San Bernardino is held two scheduled Saturdays a month, November 5 and Nov.12 8:30-12:45. If your student or family needs counseling the services are free. You can show up on scheduled Saturdays or you can call and make sure you have an appointed time for your needs. Our Free music program is held each Saturday.

Celebrate learning this year with your student and plan to get involved positively. Attend RUSD's Parent trainings held at the Cesar Chavez/Delores Huerta Center also known as the old Rialto Middle School campus. Currently a series of trainings on Bullying and how to help your child continues through November. Call for details. Read more...

Java is a programming language originally developed by James Gosling at Sun Microsystems (which is now a subsidiary of Oracle Corporation) and released in 1995 as a core component of Sun Microsystems' Java platform. The language derives much of its syntax from C and C++ but has a simpler object model and fewer low-level facilities. Java applications are typically compiled to bytecode (class file) that can run on any Java Virtual Machine (JVM) regardless of computer architecture. Java is a general-purpose, concurrent, class-based, object-oriented language that is specifically designed to have as few implementation dependencies as possible. It is intended to let application developers "write once, run anywhere". Java is currently one of the most popular programming languages in use, particularly for client-server web applications.

New Year's Message from the Deputy Director Colleagues! As we prepare to say good-bye to 2009, I’d like to highlight the achievements we’ve made, and acknowledge all of the contributions the Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) has made toward sustained growth. BIE has pioneered new approaches to: (1) improve teaching and learning within our schools, (2) conduct business differently, and (3) make data driven decisions in the best interest of the students we serve. Our success is a direct result of our focus on using what works best for the students within our organization. The BIE has seen the fruits of these labors in how the unique needs are being addressed within our school communities. These efforts will continue to affect a new generation as we enter the new decade, and as we continue to explore strategies to improve the proficiency levels of our students. Read more...
